Laura’s passion for education and skills began at university whilst working with Lancashire Constabulary and local secondary schools on a crime reduction project. After graduating Laura continued to work within the Community Safety sector, primarily on education projects relating to crime reduction, fire and road safety.
Having seen the importance of education in changing lives and inspiring futures, Laura decided to retrain as a primary school teacher. Prior to starting her PGCE Laura completed a 3 month internship with us, working with our West Midlands team. Laura went on to enjoy teaching in schools across the West Midlands and Staffordshire, both in KS1 and KS2.
Laura was excited to see that the work of the Skills Builder Partnership had expanded to reach the North Midlands and she returned to join the team in 2019 as the Education Associate for this area. Laura now enjoys supporting schools to build their student’s essential skills both in the classroom and whilst visiting our fantastic range of employers on trips.
