Laura Jones
Senior Associate (Product)
Laura’s passion for education and skills began at university whilst working with Lancashire Constabulary and local secondary schools on a crime reduction project. After graduating Laura continued to work within the Community Safety sector, primarily on education projects relating to crime reduction, fire and road safety.
Having seen the importance of education in changing lives and inspiring futures, Laura decided to retrain as a primary school teacher. Prior to starting her PGCE Laura completed a 3-month internship with us, working with our West Midlands team. Laura went on to enjoy teaching in schools across the West Midlands and Staffordshire, both in Key Stages 1 and 2. Laura was excited to see that the work of the Skills Builder Partnership had expanded to reach the North Midlands and she returned to join the team in 2019 as the Education Associate for this area.
Laura now works in the Education team at the Partnership, supporting schools and colleges across the Midlands to deliver outstanding essential skills education. She is also part of the Network team working with a number of local areas to encourage their school and college networks to join our educator programmes. More recently, she has worked as part of our Product Team, supporting the creation of Skills Builder Homezone for parents and carers, as well as developing and managing our products for independent skill development: Skills Builder Launchpad and Skills Builder Benchmark.
