Health & Social Care

St James's University Hospital is part of The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. It is one of six centres which conduct liver transplants. St James's was the location of the first living-related donor liver transplant on the NHS. The hospital was founded in 1925 replacing the Poor Law Infirmary which had its origin in 1848.
