Spread the Word
Today's challenge was to 'spread the word' about our host by creating an exciting new mascot with an important message. Throughout the day, the learners carried out lots of research, demonstrating their excellent Listening skills. The teams went on a tour and learned a little about the fantastic work being carried out on a daily basis by the different departments and their team members. Back in the room, it was time to get Problem Solving to research all the facts they could, before using their Creativity to come up with designs for a new mascot in order to promote positive messages. Later in the day, the students designed posters to showcase their new mascot and spread the word, before presenting their designs through exciting and informative news broadcasts.

Creativity and Presenting
I have had such a fun day today and everyone here has been so nice. I also enjoyed working with new people and I think we did really well with our Teamwork.
Student, Year 5
Overall I've had a brilliant day and it's been great to see the transformation of the students across the day - some starting off shy and reserved then really coming out of their shell!
Volunteer, Age UK
They've had a brilliant time and all of the volunteers have been fantastic! The tour was great and each student got to speak with an employee and ask them about the skills they use everyday.
