King Edward VI Community College
King Edward VI Community College began working with Enabling Enterprise in 2019, and are keen to ensure their students have opportunities to work creatively and collaboratively whilst using their essential skills. Today's enterprising challenge was a great chance for students to be focusing on developing their 'skills'.
Brewin Dolphin Exeter
Brewin Dolphin is one of the UK’s leading providers of personalised, discretionary wealth management services, offering investment management and financial planning services to investors and intermediaries. With origins dating back to the mid-18th century, they were one of the founding firms of the London Stock Exchange. They have 28 offices throughout the UK & Ireland and have a wealth of experience dealing with investment markets.
Trading Triumphs
The learners were challenged to become stock market traders, take calculated risks, deal with set-backs and stay positive. Using their enterprise skills, the learners decided which companies would provide the best return for their client Dr Taylor. Following each investment, breaking news updates from the stock market compelled the pupils to use their Problem Solving skills to review and update their trading decisions to maximise their clients return.
Students sharpened their analytical skills, developing critical thinking , teamwork and communication skills. They particularly enjoyed investing their clients money and calculating risk.
I have a great day! We learned to work together effectively in a team and invest wisely whilst learning about careers in finance.
Year 10 Student
