Ubunifu Foundation is a community-driven and self-organised learning space in Zanzibar that empowers young people to discover their purpose, develop essential skills, and transform community challenges into sustainable social enterprises. Through the SINA (Social Innovation Academy) model, Ubunifu provides personal development, entrepreneurship training, mentorship, coaching, and a supportive environment where young people can build confidence, create solutions, and generate meaningful livelihoods.
Ubunifu Foundation supports essential skills development at an Impact Level by creating a learner-centred environment where young people actively practice, apply and reflect on key skills needed for personal growth, entrepreneurship, and community impact. Through the SINA model, scholars participate in personal development sessions, entrepreneurship training, mentorship, coaching, and real-life project implementation. They develop skills such as problem solving, creativity, teamwork, self-management, communication, leadership, and adaptability by applying them to real challenges and social enterprise ideas. Regular reflection, feedback, peer learning, and self-assessment help scholars recognise their progress and continuously improve their ability to use these skills in their personal, professional, and community lives.
