The Tree House Foundation delivers a school-based essential skills programme in partnership with AFEL to support vulnerable learners in Lebanon. The programme helps students develop Listening and Adapting skills through structured classroom activities, visual learning materials, and individual skill passports that encourage self-reflection and progress tracking. Teachers are supported to embed these skills into everyday lessons through guided routines, discussions, and practical exercises. The overall aim is to strengthen learners’ confidence, behaviour, and readiness for future learning and life opportunities.
The programme consistently uses the Listening and Adapting skill names and icons across classroom posters, student passports, and learning materials. Students regularly reflect on specific skill steps through teacher prompts such as whether they listened carefully, followed instructions, or adapted when situations changed. Structured pair work, group activities, and classroom routines give learners repeated opportunities to apply and practice these targeted steps in real learning situations.
