The Skills Empowerment Initiative by Mcrisssar Foundation equips our staff and adolescent girls with the essential skills needed to lead confidently in their schools, communities, and future careers. Through weekly workshops, participants explore and develop eight core skills outlined in the Skills Builder Universal Framework, including speaking, listening, teamwork, and problem-solving. The program also integrates real-world advocacy projects, such as peer education on period dignity and gender equality. Girls are supported with reflection journals, coaching, and opportunities to lead community sessions. The initiative is currently active in multiple low-resource communities and continues to expand across rural and urban areas.
The Mcrisssar team integrates the Skills Builder essential skills icons into every workshop and reflection tool. Each session explicitly targets one or more skills and includes structured opportunities for discussion, practice, and peer feedback. Participants track their progress using a simplified framework and facilitator-guided reflection. The program supports learners to build a shared language for skills and encourages them to apply what they learn through real-life leadership and advocacy projects.
