The Peer Leadership Programme equips adolescents with the essential skills needed to collaborate, lead, and positively influence their school communities. Delivered through structured sessions, the programme introduces learners to specific skills from the Skills Builder Universal Framework and provides guided opportunities to practise them through peer mentoring, small-group activities, and leadership challenges. Learners develop confidence in managing resources, mentoring others, taking accountability, and contributing to group decisions.

The programme directly embeds Leadership Steps 5 and 6 and Teamwork Steps 6 and 7 from the Skills Builder Universal Framework. Each session introduces the what, why and how of the target skill step, followed by a structured activity where learners practise applying it. Learners complete baseline and endline assessments and use reflection worksheets after each session to analyse their progress. Lesson plans, practice activities, and peer mentoring tasks are designed specifically to help learners demonstrate the chosen skill steps in real contexts.
