The 6000 Pads Project by Pure Impact Inspirational Network (PIIN) is a menstrual health and life skills programme that empowers adolescent girls with accurate menstrual health education, practical hygiene skills and opportunities to develop essential skills through interactive learning. Using games, demonstrations, guided discussions and self-reflection, participants build confidence, strengthen their listening and communication skills, and learn healthy menstrual practices. The programme also provides sanitary pads, helping girls manage their periods with dignity, remain engaged in school and make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.
The programme intentionally develops the essential skill of Listening by explicitly teaching and consistently reinforcing the Skills Builder language throughout the session. Participants practise the skill through interactive games, health education, practical demonstrations and recall activities before reflecting on their own progress using guided questions. Facilitators observe participants demonstrating key instructions, provide feedback and encourage them to identify how they applied the listening strategies during each activity, ensuring repeated practice and self-assessment.
