The mentorship programme provides structured guidance and support for secondary school students, with the central aim of strengthening personal development and essential skills. Designed for young people aged 13–18, the programme is delivered through group mentorship sessions over a six-week period. Core sessions address key topics such as identity crises and growth mindset, building resilience and perseverance, navigating difficult times, choosing career pathways, and goal setting. Each topic is intentionally linked to essential skills including Adapting (persisting, reflective learning, practising resilience) and Planning (recognising strengths, facing challenges, and setting achievable goals). The programme supports participants to develop confidence, resilience, and clarity for education and future life pathways.
The programme supports essential skills development by embedding Adapting and Planning throughout all sessions and materials. Skill icons are included in session plans and assessment tools and are consistently referenced by facilitators. Each session begins with clear definitions of the skills and explores real-life scenarios to aid understanding. Participants complete reflective activities to evidence progress, demonstrating increased awareness of how these skills support goal setting, resilience, and positive outcomes in education and everyday life.
