





The youth entrepreneurship programme in Nakivale refugee settlement is an 8 week training designed for young people from refugee communities. It starts by building trust, communication, and teamwork, then gradually moves into problem solving, creativity, leadership, and project planning. Each week includes practical activities such as storytelling, community mapping, idea generation, and business planning. Participants regularly reflect on their progress using simple self-assessment questions based on the Skills Builder Universal Framework. In the final weeks, they design a small community project. The programme helps young people build confidence, improve essential skills, and create livelihood opportunities.
The programme builds essential skills using the Skills Builder Universal Framework across all sessions. Participants practice listening ,speaking, teamwork, problem solving, and leadership through activities community mapping, and project planning. Each session includes reflection questions and a 1-5 self-assessment to track progress. Skills are developed step by step over 8 weeks, helping participants improve steadily and apply their learning in real community projects.
