The Think & Make programme is a long-term, in-school intervention for public school students that builds problem-solving and innovation skills through hands-on, experiential learning. Delivered weekly within classrooms, the programme engages entire cohorts of Grade 6+ students in team-based challenges rooted in real-world design and community problems. Students explore themes such as user-centric design, biomimicry, renewable energy and technology, learn from real innovation examples, and design, prototype, and refine their own solutions using affordable Mini-Makerspaces. The programme is implemented through a peer-led and teacher-supported model, with structured training, mentoring, and monitoring by Inqui-Lab, and culminates in capstone projects and showcases.
Think & Make is a multi-year programme with three levels, with Level 1 focusing on Teamwork, Creativity, and Speaking. The programme consists of 12 structured sessions, each explicitly mapped to a specific skill step within the Skill Builder framework. In Session 1, students are introduced to the framework and focus skills, and each subsequent session includes a guided introduction, practice activities, and reflection. Students complete a skill survey at the start and end of the programme, while teachers use observation forms each session to track skill practice and progression.
