When generative AI models entered mainstream public awareness, the initial reaction across Czech academic institutions in 2024 was marked by hesitation and temporary bans aimed at preserving academic integrity. However, by 2026, Czechia executed one of the most pragmatic policy transformations in Europe.

Recognising that attempting to ban AI tools was both unenforceable and counterproductive, the Czech Ministry of Education enacted a forward-looking strategy: systematically empower educators with AI tools first, then redefine student learning around essential human capabilities.

Systemic Impact & Educator Support: Through the national AIDIG project (2024-2026), Czechia committed to providing public school educators with professional AI tools to handle administrative tasks, directly redirecting saved time into high-impact student mentorship and emotional wellbeing support.

Automating administrative tasks like lesson planning and grading is only the first phase of reform. To ensure that time savings translate into better student outcomes, social enterprise partner Schola Empirica translated and integrated the Skills Builder Universal Framework into the national education ecosystem.

Teachers across Czechia now use custom AI assistants pre-loaded with the Universal Framework. These digital assistants generate tailored classroom activities, collaborative puzzles, and real-world scenario challenges mapped directly to the 16 steps of skills like Critical Problem Solving,Teamwork and Adapting. By delegating routine instructional design to AI, teachers dedicate their energy to facilitating group dialogue, resolving interpersonal dynamics, and coaching individual growth.

Aligning Policy with the 2027 Curriculum Reset

This grassroots progress is directly reinforced by top-level educational policy. Through the government's Strategy for Education Policy 2030+ and the upcoming 2027 Curriculum Reset, transferable "key competencies" are now formally established as the central pillar of national schooling.

Translating this policy mandate into classroom practice is made seamless through the Skills Builder Global Accelerator Programme. Designed to support educators through every stage of curriculum transformation, the year-long programme equips schools to embed transferable skills effectively by providing:
