We want to help young people who might be low on confidence or intimidated by a traditional recruitment method, to gain confidence in their skills and suitability during game play. Ultimately, we want them to feel they are a good fit for these roles and could consider applying.

The benefit to Babcock is to improve diversity at Babcock and support the local community to take on jobs rather than having to use people outside of the area.

This is part of Plymouth County Council’s ongoing engagement with young people so young people will be briefed by the work counsellors who support them.

Traditional recruitment methods are not significantly improving diversity, so Babcock and Plymouth Council wish to approach this more creatively to improve prospects of underrepresented young people in the area. This game was created as a way to encourage people to explore their local area and build a virtual CV, taking part in challenges and developing their essential skills in the virtual world!
