Pupils work in pairs to design, manufacture and code models using a LEGO WeDo 2 kit and an iPad.

The tasks vary due to year groups and include:

  • Designing and constructing
  • Learning to communicate, share ideas and work together
  • Building models from instructions.
  • Adapting existing and creating their own models.
  • Coding, using software to create a working model using intuitive “drag and drop” coding that makes it fun and easy for students to bring their creations to life

Four of the Skills Builder essential skills are assessed at the end of the workshop using a Clikapad quiz. The skills are introduced at the start of the workshop and reminder questions placed on the tutor's PowerPoint at appropriate points.

Run by a SATRO STEM Tutor, supported by industry volunteers where appropriate. To arrange a booking, please contact Carl Webb (STEM Tutor) on 01483 688070 or at this email: carl.webb@satro.org.uk
