TRIP-HOSTING EMPLOYER

Our employer partners periodically host visits to their workplaces by groups of students, who get a chance to meet employees and ask questions. Volunteers and students then get to work on a challenge that gives a flavour of what the organisation does.

Higher Horizons+ are part of the Uni Connect Programme, funded by the Government to deliver free and impartial higher education outreach to schools and colleges across Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire.

Their Progression Framework shapes the activities that they deliver to schools and colleges. The framework is designed to be an outreach curriculum, structured around three key themes:

1) Inform: Information, advice, and guidance about post-16 and post-18 choices including college, university, and apprenticeships.

2) Enable: Supporting subject interests and attainment, and helping learners make successful transitions to the next level of study.

3) Experience: Providing hands-on experiences at one of our university, college, or employer partners.
