Pentabilities was founded by Maria and Caterina Calsamiglia in 2014. Their system for the development of social and interpersonal skills in education and organizations developed from a study funded by the European Research Council, CompSCHoice 638893.
Pentabilities' aim is to define social and emotional indicators that are objective, measurable and communicable. Their programmes involve the participation of schools and education centres that implement pedagogical strategies to incorporate the development of social and emotional abilities, which are included among other cognitive abilities. Their system is based on the five factor model of personality: Responsibility, Cooperation, Autonomy and Initiative, Emotional Management and Thinking Abilities.
