The Rise For Success programme provides storytelling training and support for women in Bidi Bidi refugee camp. This initiative allows them to build confidence, creativity, and resilience, using a camera as a catalyst for change, regardless of who they are or where they are from. Each story not only shares how the individual is, but also builds identification and strength. After a five-month training period, each student produces over 50 stories and ethical storytelling works. At the end of the programme, they are free to choose to learn in key areas such as journalism, radio presenting, filmmaking, and other media opportunities.
Skills icons are incorporated, along with reflective questions and content from the Universal Framework, to make the sessions more engaging. Reflective questions are used at the close of the sessions. These questions are carefully crafted based on the skills and steps that were covered during the session. This approach allows the impact of the sessions on the scholars to be tracked effectively. For instance, after a session focused on creativity, they might ask, "How often are you able to identify opportunities for innovation?"
