A school-based programme designed to foster pupils’ oracy, character and confidence as they make the transition through Years 5 and 6 and go through the rigorous secondary school assessment process. Oppidan mentors work with students, teachers and parents.

The 2-Year Prep School Journey programme consists of one-to-one mentoring, in school delivery days and teacher and parent training, spread across two academic years, commencing in Year 5 and concluding in Year 6. The Skills Builder Universal Framework is used to support students to develop their oracy, character and confidence in preparation for sitting secondary school entry assessments. The language of the Framework is weaved through all student content, referenced on the parent platform, and included in teacher and mentor training resources. Students also have the opportunity to complete pre- and post-assessment surveys to track progress in the 8 essential skills.
