The Solent LEP SEND Community of Practice (CoP) is a network of career professionals and wider stakeholders who support young people with additional needs to develop life, educational and employment skills.

The SEND CoP aims to:

  • Build a community of practice that encourages collaboration
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of careers programmes and related activities
  • Provide a platform to signpost to information, sources of support and opportunities for professional development
  • Develop projects to support employer engagement opportunities.

In collaboration with Skills Builder, we aim to ensure that current provision can be aligned with the Expanded Skills Framework. By working together in this way, young people will be more fully supported to make positive transitions and in turn, be better prepared for the adult world and achieving their career potential.
