A great boost for Skills Builder in the new school year

Hello! It's now been five months since we launched the Skills Builder Partnership, and we're excited to get stuck into a new academic year. Last week, we were thrilled that the Fair Education Alliance has officially recommended the Skills Builder Framework be adopted by schools and practitioners around the country. We're also delighted to be a finalist for Education Social Enterprise of the Year in the Social Enterprise UK awards.

Over the summer, we've been working hard to make our resources and systems for schools even better. We've added a whole set of new videos and tools to the Skills Builder Hub. We're expanding relationships with our fantastic employer partners, hosting brand new trips in Bristol, Leeds and London. Plus, we've seen new skills-building organisations start to integrate the Skills Builder Framework into their work.

And there's plenty more coming, as the Partnership and the momentum behind it keeps building. Check out all the latest below - and thanks, as ever, for all your support.

Fair Education Alliance officially recommends wide adoption of Skills Builder Framework

We're a proud founding member of the Fair Education Alliance, a coalition of over 100 organisations working together across sectors to end educational inequality, monitoring the gap between the most disadvantaged children and their wealthier peers, and using our collective voice and resources to effect lasting change.

Every year, the FEA publishes their Annual Report Card, where they assess the state of education inequality and make recommendations for the next year. We're very pleased that they are calling for a shared language and framework for skills development, and supporting the rollout of Skills Builder Framework to be adopted by schools and practitioners across the country. We need a radical shift in the rigour with which we build essential skills to put them on a par with literacy and numeracy, and forming part of the FEA's official recommendations is an important step on the journey.
