New approaches to essential skills in Uganda

Since early 2022, we have been pleased to work with the Ugandan National Examination Board (UNEB) and British Council, pursuing the country’s vision of every child and young person building the essential skills to thrive in their lives.

Through a series of collaborative workshops in Uganda, we worked to hone and adapt the Skills Builder Handbook and approach to support Ugandan teachers to assess and build the essential skills of their learners. The work built off our longstanding partnership with the British Council, other strong examples of national implementation of the Skills Builder approach, and the work we have been doing with Ugandan schools.

We are excited to see this work now well underway with training and development in progress.
