What's been going on in September 2019

Hello! We hope the start of the academic year is going well for you.

Just a quick reminder that our Ten Years Celebration Event is coming up in November, where we'll be reflecting on the progress we've made so far and what comes next with our partners, supporters and some great speakers. Find out more and RSVP below, if you haven't already.

We are also looking for some outstanding people to join our brilliant team and transform essential skills! Have a look below - there are nine very varied roles available, so do head to skillsbuilder.org/jobs and share them with your contacts if you think they'd be interested.

There are some updates of what else has been going on further down as well.

We look forward to seeing many of you in November, if not before!

- Tom Ravenscroft, CEO

It’s been ten years since the organisation was originally founded as Enabling Enterprise back in 2009. Since then, we’ve grown into the Skills Builder Partnership, and seen the reach of our work grow from a handful of classrooms to more than 125,000 children and young people in the last year alone.

This event is an opportunity to thank all our partners and supporters for their contribution to that collective progress over the last decade - and to share our plans for where we go next. We have a brilliant line-up of speakers, as well as the opportunity to meet other partners and supporters over drinks.  We’re grateful that UBS, our earliest partner, are hosting this special evening for us.

The key details are:

  • 18:00 - 20:30 on Thursday 28 November 2019
  • Generously hosted by UBS, 5 Broadgate, London, EC2M 2QS
  • Nearest station: Liverpool Street

We really hope you can join us. Click the button below to RSVP if you haven't already.

We're pleased to be part of the continuing work of the Essential Skills Taskforce, which is bringing together leading organisations from the education and employment sectors to extend the Skills Builder Framework for use by employers too. In addition, we've recently expanded our partnership with Birmingham Airport: we will soon be collaborating to help them integrate the Framework directly into their work with young people.

We're delighted to announce our partnership with the Harlequins Foundation! We're collaborating to explore how sports organisations can use the Skills Builder Framework to transform how young people build their essential skills through sport. In addition, we're excited that High Speed 2 will be using the Framework to connect their outreach programmes in both primary and secondary schools, from embedding steps into STEM workshops to shaping their work experience programme.
